Has anyone filed for this credit?  If so, what did it look like?

I would exercise extreme caution when considering this credit. There are many instances out there where the third-party is claiming this credit fraudulently. You should only consider filing if you are working with a reputable provider of services (i.e. legitimate payroll company, etc.)

I agree with Richard, and would recommend using a reputable provider to evaluate your eligibility. There are a number of providers that are advertising huge numbers, but aren't realistic. This page from Brotherhood Mutual might be a good place to start for the explanation of the credit, as well as some of the eligibility requirements.  It includes a link at the bottom for further assistance. https://www.ministryworks.com/resources/articles/additional-resources/employee-retention-credit-overview/

Our non-profit was able to successfully claim the credit for the time period that we were forced to be closed due to government restrictions (and continued to pay employees), but we worked closely with a professional CPA firm to make sure it was accomplished correctly.

Also note that clergy payroll is not eligible for the credit.
