Is there a credit card available for a congregation that does not require an individual member of the congregation to be tied to the card?   Looking for a card that is tied to the congregation and not a member of the congregation.

We have one through Busey Bank. We have banked with them through another bank they bought out since the early 50’s.

We purposely kept the credit limit low on the card as we only use it so our secretary and trustees do not have to get reimbursed for small purchases.

We have taken loans out with them in the past securing the loan with our CD’s. All of the credit card and loans were through the church and not through an individual.

    Hi, All!

We offer what we call a Ministry Classic Credit Card at LutheranFCU. As the credit union created for the LCMS, we understand the frustration with other financial institutions that require a personal guarantee for business credit cards, so we offer the Ministry Classic Credit Card that uses the financials of the church as opposed to Pastor or other church employees or volunteers. You can check it out at https://www.lutheranfcu.org/ministry-classic-credit-card

I hope we can help you out!

Although I don't have experience on the church side of things, I work in non-profit management, and a popular choice in the community is charitycharge.com

Charity Charge will work with churches, too, is what I'm told.

In order to get a credit card based on the strength of the financial position as an organization, rather than one person's credit score, you'll probably need documents supporting that financial strength, such as Balance Sheets, Profit & Loss Reports, and bank statements.

    Good luck!
