    Does your congregation or school recognize the Pastor or teachers with a gift or bonus at Chistmas? If so, what is appropriate?

    Our school board gives $50 to each of our daycare/ preschool staff/ secretary and we funded an at home party.  For Pastor we take donations and present that along with gift basket on Christmas Eve.

    we ask for donations from the congregation and split them evenly between all the staff

    We do the same gift for all volunteers and staff. Most recently items from 4Imprint with our logo-umbrellas, picnic blankets, lunch bags. This year we're giving them the "Minute Messages" devotion from CPH along with some Ferrero Rocher candy. I usually make them a nice card thanking them for their work and wrap the gifts to coordinate with the card - this year I think it will be gold and red.

    Kevin, we give all the employees (Pastors, church staff, and pre-school staff) a $250 Christmas gift, grossed up to cover taxes, and it's included in their first payroll in December.  They are each notified with a personal Christmas Card.

    Individual members are free to express their appreciation to church and school staff during December as they choose.

    We've developed a tradition of placing special emphasis on appreciating our church workers throughout the month of October - LCMS church worker appreciation month (church staff, school principal (who severs on the BOD with us), vicar and pastors. More details if you would like.
    While school staff and faculty receive special recognition from the congregation during a worship service prior to the start of the school year, they are recognized by the school board in the lead up to Christmas.
