We have an outreach ministry called "God's Pantry" which takes place every Wednesday morning. God's Pantry hands out food to those in need and it is such a blessing for our church to have this. However, getting volunteers for them is difficult. In the summer it is so hot that our times change constantly. If we can get a semi truck load early we open as soon as we are set up and ready to go. In the winter we have wonderful snowbirds that come and help and that has been a blessing to say the least. But we still need people to help. Do you have any ideas on how to get volunteers to work??
If you have exhausted your volunteer resources within your church, perhaps you could ask the recipients of the food if they could share their time....or, put out a request to your community.
If there is a local college, contact them for groups that do community service. Weekday mornings are a tough time slot to fill. Gotta think where do the non-working people go...that is where you will find a pool of available people...the gym??? Senior housing??? Life Groups???
Best wishes for your search.
